The sight of cherry blossoms,
So rich & pink,
A symbol of clouds.
Here's another haiku I rote about Spring. Enjoy.

The definition of a haiku is that it contains 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line, and 5 syllables in the third line.

the sight of cherry

blossoms such a tender pink

a symbol of clouds

One might go further and, being aware that the fluffy firm clouds of Spring days are in fact usually white, extend the metaphor a little (the word "symbol" is, I feel a little unnecessary here):

the sight of cherry

blossoms such a tender pink

the dawn clouds of Spring

And I find your authorial comment interesting. Presumably you are referring to the "rites of Spring" when you create the hapax legomenon "rote" as the past tense of a notional verb "rite" (formed on the noun).
